Requirements on Sensor and Torch

  • Keep the distance between the
p.a. torch and the light sensor at 80 cm.

  • The torch and the sensing
unit must be on the same level and face each other.

  • Set the brightness
        accordingly.

How to play

  • Cut a circular ring with a handle as shown in the figure below from a
vanguard sheet.  The thickness of the ring must be at least 2cm.

  • Hold the handle of the circular ring and position it such that the torchlight shines through the inner part of the ring without obstruction. The alarm will sound when the ring cuts through the torchlight, but this is fine so long as it stops when the torchlight finally goes through the ring with obstruction. The distance between the ring and the torch is 3cm.

  • Start the game by moving the circular ring towards the sensing unit in a straight line such that it does not obstruct the torchlight in the process.

  • It is a success if you can bring the ring to as near as 3cm from the sensing unit without triggering the alarm.

The Score

  • The score is the diameter of the inner ring round to the nearest 0.1 cm.

  • The lower the score is, the better.
